So as Oppo knows the Focus RS is coming out very soon to the public for mass purchase. The RS has 350hp/350 lb-ft of torque, AWD, 0-60 in 4.7, 6 speed manual only. The RS i’m sure will be an excellent drivers car much like how all recent Ford performance cars have been. The GT has 435hp/400 lb-ft of torque, RWD, 0-60 in 4.7, and a V8. The RS with options I would tick would cost around $34,500 including moonroof, nitrous blue paint, and forged alloy wheels. The Mustang would be a base GT with the performance package, black painted roof, Recaro seats, and reverse sensing system for about $33,000. These cars wont ever be modded crazily loud, low, or in any other way obnoxious so turbo swaps, big power adders, loud exhausts are out of the question.
Oppo these cars will be used primarily in SoCal as DD’s seeing over 22,000 miles a year. I do sales to help families how would you also feel about having a Mustang as your agents car? Is it too flashy? Would it change your idea about the sale? For reference my current car is a 2015 Focus ST ST1 package without Recaro seats, nav, or any other luxuries besides the moonroof.

Focus RS. More rare and potentially more fun if you live in a place that’s not Florida or Texas.

It’s also probably more practical based on your lifestyle.

I’d personally do the RS cause 1 it would stand out more than just a Mustang and too it would be better for my Chicago winters lol

is this even a question? Mustang 10/10. Sure a hot hatch is fun, but let me tell you a little story.
I love my GLI, but EVERY TIME I want to have some fun, I find my friends having more of it in their pony cars. sure, my GLI is FWD and not AWD, but I still think nothing beats the recepie of V8 RWD.

Why get rid of your st so soon? Financial advice aside, the focus is better in every way and you already know what it’s like/what it can do. The mustang is a bigger compromise less rare and less likely to hold it’s value. The RS is very hot shit right now and you would be a fool to choose a mustang over it .
EDIT: just went through your posts and your the kid who bought a new fost at 18 and owe a shit load on it and started looking for replacements a month after buying it. You shouldn't be buying a new car and need to get your finances in check first.

RS because it’s more sleeper than the GT
Most people won't think of it other than a focus that looks nice.

Living in social, I’d say it’s a toss up. If you have a family, the RS will be easier to get them in and out.
If I was looking for pure driving pleasure, I’d probably buy the mustang. But for everyday DD year-round duties, the RS is more appealing.

You’re worried about a Mustang being too flashy, but speccing your RS in Nitrous Blue? Do you like your ST enough for another (hotter) hatch, or do you want to change it up? My money is on the RS.

Mustang because in SoCal do you really need AWD? Plus the Mustang looks better and has a V8.

Mustang is big and heavy (but still fast), if you like to toss it I’d get the Focus. Shit I’d get the focus anyway. Street legal rally car.

My only experience has been with the Mustang and a Focus ST, but I still have a feeling I’d go mustang unless you need back seats

Ha, if you want an RS before 2017 you should have put yourself on that wait list starting in October. Good luck!

The pricing of the RS makes it tough, but I think my preference goes GT350(R), Focus RS, Mustang GT. Unless someone finds an easy way to pull 300+ pounds out of the Mustang.

I’d rather wreck my car trying to drift on my own, than have a gimmick drift the thing for me.
And turbo? I own a turbo car. guess what? I want NA. boost gets boring after awhile. I want to hear a V8 burble

your still doing the drifting. I think drift mode just makes the car RWD

NA V8, manual, RWD. And imo you should have different driving experiences, an RS is just a better ST.

I kinda doubt that but it might send more torques to the rear. like 60/40 instead of 50/50. My cars AWD is naturally 50/50 and on loose surface it’s pretty easy to drift it, and it has 120hp less than the RS.

Both tempting, would have to drive both and decide. I do like the sleeperness/rarity of the RS. I’ve never been a Mustang guy, but a GT350 may have to be in my garage at some point in the future (all black).

It’s now possible to send pretty much all the power to one wheel if the computers choose to and I am pretty sure there are options such as the drift button that send most if not all the power to the rear. I have both NA V-8 and a turbo, V-8 is fun for the noise, the turbo is fun for the punch.

If the question was rs vs. gt350 i’d say gt350 and that’s only 10,000 more. 37,000 = 47,000 because reasons.

The RS is going to be impossible to get on the first run. You'll probably be waiting a while. Is it worth the wait? Nobody knows!

In all likelihood, the Mustang would be distinctly more reliable under such conditions, unless you trade in every 6-12 months, as you haven't had that FoST very long.
